Shamanism
is an ancient spiritual discipline.  It has been around for thousands of years in many cultures and many times.  Sometimes called "Spirit Medicine," Shamanism recognizes the interrelatedness of life...the interconnectedness of plants, animals, people, and Spirit.

Who are Shamans?
The people who perform Shamanism are sometimes called medicine women and men, high priests or priestesses, clerics, or spiritual healers. Shamans shift from ordinary physical reality to nonphysical realities bringing valuable information and guidance back with them.  Shamans have direct access to Spirit and will guide others into the spirit world through activities such as drumming, chanting, visualizations, and movement.  Shamans journey into spiritual dimensions to gain valuable wisdom and insights on behalf of others.

What can Shamanism do for me?
Shamans are doorways to other dimensions and not only are they called upon for guidance and information, but they often perform rituals and healing.  Rituals, also called sacred circles, honor and celebrate  rites of passage (e.g. births, coming of age, house blessings, death) and natural cycles of the seasons (e.g full moons, winter solstice).

Shamans use their special power objects, their connection to spirit, and their wisdom, to guide you back to health. They do this by balancing your life force. The life force, sometimes called chi, ki, or energy, is a part of Spirit. When the life force is out of balance (link to energy healing page here) there is disease, pain, and unnecessary suffering.  Shamans will bring your life force into a balanced state of mind/body/spirit.  Shamans often teach you how to maintain this balance for yourself.

Diana Golden Hunter works in the spirit dimension with her spirit guides on your behalf.    She often channels information for you directly from your spirit guides.  She holds open the doorway to the spirit world so you receive healing in a powerful, sacred, space.   The spirit guides bring your energy into deep, soul-level awareness, balance, and healing.

How to Work with your Chakras

Chakras are energy processing centers that pull energy in, assimilate it, and send it back out.  This occurs on all levels of the being (physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual).  Illnesses correspond to specific chakra imbalances.  For example, an imbalance in the solar plexus chakra on the physical level corresponds to liver disease, skin problems, or digestive problems.  An imbalance in the solar plexus on the emotional level corresponds to depression or inappropriate expressions of anger. An imbalance in the solar plexus on the mental level corresponds to difficulty taking in ideas (i.e. surrounding oneself with books and rarely having time to read) and being uncomfortable accepting one’s power.  An imbalance in the solar plexus on the spiritual level corresponds to continually looking outside ourselves to others for answers (when we assume someone else’s beliefs are somehow better than our own).

Following this introduction, you will find descriptions of the seven major chakras and of various tools to help you reestablish chakra balance and harmony.  For instance, if you look under the solar plexus chakra, you find suggestions for certain colors, crystals, affirmations, and sounds.  For example, the primary color for the solar plexus chakra is yellow.  Finding ways to incorporate yellow into your energy field will help to balance that chakra.  So, the next time you feel depressed, try wearing yellow clothes or sitting in the sunshine.  The gemstones and crystals associated with the solar plexus chakra are malachite, sulfur, green citrine and yellow citrine.  So, the next time your animal companion has skin problems, visualize her surrounded in yellow and give her some malachite gem essences.  The affirmations associated with the solar plexus chakra are “I think,” “I eat,” and “I take in.”  So, the next time you think you'd like to read some of those books collecting dust on the shelf, wear a yellow shirt, and tell yourself,  “I easily and naturally eat, take in, and assimilate everything I need.”  The tone associated with the solar plexus chakra is “AW”.  So the next time you believe someone else’s beliefs are better than yours, make the sound “AW” and feel your solar plexus vibrate.  All of these tools are interchangeable for each of the levels.

Usually we are drawn to colors, sounds, and crystals we need.  Some people and some animals are more sensitive than others. (Animals will let you know what they don't like.  They tell you this when they physically move away or become agitated.)  You will find certain tools work better for you than others. Also, the more you practice, the easier it will be to know which chakras to focus on, and which tools to use for a particular imbalance. Trust your common sense and your intuition. All chakras are connected, so working with one will naturally facilitate wholeness and balance in all chakras.
